EDF Energy have sponsored the fantastic, real-ice ice rink held outside The Forum every winter since the very first rink in 2003.
Pessimists declared the initial idea unrealistic and unlikely that Norfolk people would wish to ice skate. The Forum Trust has been pleased to prove them wrong as more than 100,000 skaters have taken to the ice in the last three years.
The ice rink is a huge project to co-ordinate, manage and run each year. The marketing team at The Forum Trust draws a line under one ice rink in February and starts planning the next one in March. More than a dozen contractors are involved in setting up, building and managing the ice rink on a daily basis over 12 weeks.
The ice rink has become a festive focal point for the people of Norwich and Norfolk over the last three years with beautiful lights, real ice, real blades and lots of fun.
This year's ice rink will open on Saturday 11th November and will run until Sunday 7th January. EDF Energy Networks are again the main sponsor ensuring that the popular event will go ahead.
